Monday 22nd of August 2011 Jabiru (Kakadu National Park) – Katherine 290km

Hey Carly we are heading south!!!  11 more sleeps 🙂

We left after 8am this morning, we had to go by the dump point – Greg has even made up a song about it – He will not miss that part of his day when we get home!!   And by all accounts that one was not pleasant!

We had a good drive down to Katherine, arriving before 12pm.   After setting up we headed out to the shops to restock the fridge – I have been pleasantly surprised at the price of the food – I was expecting it to be much more expensive.    But I will enjoy shopping at our butcher and fruit shop when we get home!

Greg has booked us a Dawn breakfast cruise on the first two
gorges of the Katherine (now called Nitmiluk) Gorge – the blurb says it is a photographer’s dream – we are looking forward to it.   If we enjoy it, we might go back the day after and hire a canoe and do it ourselves.

The birds are singing outside, might go and sit outside and enjoy them some more.
