Italy has passed 3 million cases of Covid-19, the last million in 72 days (the previous million took 126 days). This explains Italy’s action in blocking the exports of Covid-19 vaccines out of the EU.

There is also the possibility that France could follow Italy’s ;lead and ban exports of vaccines as the infection rates rise there.

Israel has reportedly passed 98.85% of their population being vaccinated. Their daily rate of new infections has been dropping slowly since about 20^th January 2021. They are still experiencing new daily cases in excess of 3,000.

Brazil is experiencing a new pandemic high in the daily rate of infection of more than 57,000 people. And its President Bolsonaro has reportedly told the people of Brazil to stop whining about the new outbreak.

The WHO has said they are worried about the real figures of Covid-19 infection in 3 countries. Tanzania hasn’t updated its numbers since May 2020, Turkmenistan has still not reported any cases of Covid-19 and North Korea similarly, has not reported any cases of Covid-19.

There are 3 tiny island states that remain Covid-19 free, and have documented data to support there claims. They are St Helens, Kiribati and Tuvalu.

The Tanzanian President, John Magufuli has reportedly said the nation will pray the virus away.

Pope Francis has began a tour of Iraq, a very risky “adventure” given the state of the pandemic in that country.
