Friday 26th Aug 2011 Daly Waters to Ti Tree 700km

We left Daly Waters around 8ish this morning, stopped for diesel around 9ish, was $1.90 per litre!! I think that is the most we have paid, drove onto Tennant Creek, stopped put more diesel in and had lunch – I really love being able to pull over and go in the van and make lunch.   Tennant Creek looked like a smaller version of Katherine, we only drove down the main street though.   Thought we would check it out more next time
we are up this way!   Pat rang as  we were driving out of Katherine, was nice to hear his voice until we lost reception!! He told Greg he and Laura were going to be down for Fathers Day – I am sure you can imagine the smile Greg had on his face 🙂

Just before Wauchope we stopped and had a look at Devils Marbles – was worth a look, all of these granite boulders that looked like they had been dumped – took some good photos so we will post them over the weekend – the colours looked great against the blue sky.

We were going to stop the night at Wauchope but we decided we could go a bit further, we drove onto Ti Tree and are staying in quite a nice little grassy park.

I only drove for about 100km today, so no doubt Greg will sleep well tonight.

We have less than 200km to go tomorrow to get into Alice Springs, hopefully be there by 11am and we will have the rest of the day to
relax.

It has taken me a while, but I realised today when I was driving,
listening to some Creedence that I really do enjoy a roadtrip!! 😛
