Balranald to Wyoming 18th Feb 2012

We got a good start this morning, left by 7am, filled up with diesel, watched the sunrise and we were on our way, travelled just over 900 km today, took 9 3/4 hours and it was uneventful   🙂   We arrived to a lovely 3 course, roast dinner.   Craig, Cook and Caitlin came over was great to see them all and catch up. 🙂

Was good to finally get to bed and know we didn’t have to drive again tomorrow!

Sunday 19th Feb 2012

Greg and Karlien went off early this morning to buy a computer and wifi, Greg spent the morning (and evening) getting it set up.

Then we went off to the Gosford Sailing club for lunch with Pat & Laura who drove up and Mandy and Michael who drove down from the Hunter Valley after seeing Il Divo.  Was great to catch up with everybody.   We got some ideas of places we could visit in the Hunter when we go up there – hopefully this week!   Karlien and Mandy bought tickets in the meat & seafood raffle – but we were not lucky today! We arranged to catch up again and then said our goodbyes.

When we got home Greg thought he would put some varnish on the new back door.  Karlien went off to church.    When Greg had nearly finished he knocked over the can of varnish, made a mess!!   We then found there was no turps here, so I went down to the shops but they had sold out! They suggested I try the Chinese Grocer next door, but they couldn’t understand me!!    I rang Craig he had some, so I went around and got it.  When I got there he said he had just seen a Kangaroo in his back garden that was as tall as his chest, first one he had ever seen there.   Anyhow couldn’t stay to chat, had varnish to clean up (it had gone under the washing machine too!!).   Didn’t take long and Greg had it all cleaned up!   Don’t you love it when you do someone a favour and it takes much longer than it should cos you do something stupid!!!

Greg finished off the computer (the wifi is good, we now get much better reception on our iphones!! :)) and I read some more of my book.    I downloaded about 5 to my kindle (no mmm Greg did!!) before we went away, hoping to get through most of them before we get home.

There was a great storm last night as we went to bed, had 25 mls overnight.   Looking at the weather radar we were on the edge of the storm and Sydney right in the middle of it.   they have had alot of rain up here this summer and it has been 3 degrees on average cooler than normal – but it is still humid!!
