Hoping Thomas had a lovely 24th birthday 🙂

It was a beautiful day here today sunny around 27, nicest day we have had since we got here.    We drove up to the Hunter Valley, just over an hour north from here, was lovely to be outside enjoying the day.   We went to the Hunter Valley gardens first, but they wanted $24 each to go in, so we didn’t bother!   There was a touristy village close by, we had a wander and look in the shops.

Then we went to McGuigan’s they got winemaker of the year (mmm think that is right) for their 2006 Bin 9000 Semillon (they sold out the day before, but we did try one with our Thai dinner on Tuesday – and it was very nice)    There is a cheese factory next door, so we had a tasting then a small cheese plate for lunch – was very nice sitting outside having lunch.

Then we headed to Brokenwood winery for a wine tasting, then off to Tyrells.    The wine was rather ordinary there but the view was stunning.

Next we went to Pokolbin for a look in the shops (and the smelly cheese shop), by then we had had enough and we headed home.

We had a quiet night at home and watched some teli.
