We have been a bit slack and not done the blog for a couple of days, I hope I can remember what we have been up to. 🙂
Friday was a bit of a domestic day. After my run in the morning I mowed the lawn, we cleaned around the house a bit and cooked a roast chicken dinner for tea. It all sounds a bit mundane, well it would have been except for me being a bit clumsy. I managed to put the mower through the middle of the front garden hose and then broke a lid on a crystal piece on mum’s dresser. Oooops 🙁
How come it seems that when you try to do a good thing things often go astray??
The day finished on a good note with a delicious roast.
Saturday, we had a quiet morning and then went to visit a friend of mine, Trudie Carr, from my days on the northern beaches of Sydney. She lives at Copacabana, a beautiful seaside village. We both had a great time with Trudie and we got to meet her children, Scotty and Jamie. Trudie put on a very tasty lunch and we had a very relaxing afternoon sitting out on her deck, catching up the last 25+years since we have seen each other. I am pretty sure Deb found out a lot more about my youth and the people in it during the afternoon.
In the evening we went to The Grange Hotel for tea with Mum, Craig, Cook, Caitlin and (her boyfriend)Pat. It was a good night and the meals were good.
Sunday. We had a lunch date with Barry and Sue Freshwater at their “new” (6 month old) home in Warriewood. Barry cooked up a very tasty lunch and we shared a few drinks and just caught up all afternoon. It is always great to catch up with “old” friends, it seems way too long since we have seen them. 4 to 5 hrs seemed to just go way too quickly and it was soon time we left.
Hopefully, we will be able to spend a bit more time with them and other friends when we come up here again with the caravan in Oct this year.
During lunch we got a phone call from Ethan, he was so excited about getting a new Bunk bed that he just had to tell us. It made us all smile to the core listening to the joy in his voice. 🙂
