Our day started at the Willunga Farmers Markets. There were lots more stalls there than the last time we went and the prices seemed to be a bit better. The produce is always great, we picked up some grapes, cheeses, freshly baked bread and a couple of venison pies. )A delicious tea waits for us a bit later.
We brought the produce back to the van and then headed off to Von and Toms before heading out for lunch. Vonnie has got herself a new iPhone, so we helped her find her way around it a bit.
Lunch was at 12:30 at The Star of Greece in Port Willunga with Tom, Von, Brian and Eileen, and as an added bonus, Tara our niece was working in the restaurant.
We had a very relaxed afternoon. The food was very good, between us we had the duck, lamb, whiting and red fish?, all washed down with a couple of bottles of pinot gregio. The view from the restaurant was spectacular on this sunny autumn afternoon, the seas were flat, the water deep blue under a clear blue sky.
After lunch we went back to Von and Toms for coffee, and a bit more help with her new phone. It was a very relaxing afternoon, and Tom has suggested we go out fishing in his boat early in the week, so I am hoping the weather stays calm and clear.
WE got back to the van around 5pm and feed our very hungry puppy. Then the pies went in the oven and Deb served up a delicious cheese platter, while we waited for the pies to heat up (They were still frozen when we got back) The cheese was delicious , but the pies were a bit over spiced and you couldn’t really taste the venison, which was a bit disappointing.
We are having a quiet night tonight and a relaxed morning tomorrow, before we head off for a belated Mother’s Day dinner
