Waiheke Island 8th April 2018

Had a lazy morning soaking up the views from our Airbnb, left about 11.30am and wandered the Main Street if Oneroa. It has a village feel, lots of cafes, upmarket shops and beautiful views over the bay. The sun was shining on another beautiful day in NZ.

Lunch was at Solar cafe, out the back in the garden overlooking the bay.  There was lots of delicious wood fired pizza, salad and Wedding cake. Was an enjoyable couple of hours catching up with people and did I mention those views!

After getting back to our accomodation we went for a walk down to the beach, was pretty steep going down and all I could think about was the climb back up!  Was a pebbly beach in a small bay, the water was warm – but we only put our hands in! There were a few boats out on the water. After about 15 minutes of wandering we climbed back up the hill. It didn’t seem as long a climb as I thought it would be, but there were many stops to catch my breath along the way.

Now for the clinb back up

We were both tired and after watching a bit of the New Zealanders take on the Commonwealth games we had an early night.
