In August there were almost 25 million new Covid-19 cases world wide, with 71,663 reported deaths due to Covid-19. In Australia those figures were almost 600,000 new cases and just over 2,000 deaths reported. South Australia had just over 42 thousand new cases and 103 reported deaths due to Covid-19.
My data shows that the world wide incidence of Reported Covid-19 cases has returned to levels last seen in in April/May 2021, the trend in the data is still down.
In Australia my data shows a steep decline in reported Covid-19 cases since the start of August, with case numbers now similar to December 2021.
The rate of hospitalisation has returned to levels last seen in July.
The ratio of people in ICU compared to those hospitalised has started to decrease from around 3.5% to 3.0%.
The death rate is still technically going up, but it is forming a wedge shape and indications are that it will be in decline in a week or so. Up
