Another tough day in Broome. We planned on doing very little, and I’d call it mission accomplished.
I spent most of the morning out on our deck relaxing, doing not much at all besides soaking up the warmth.
Our big thing for the morning was eventually letting housekeeping in to make-up our room. I had to go from the deck to the front door to make it happen!
We had an eventful afternoon.
First up I organised some gaffer tape to be delivered to our room so I could make running repairs to Deb’s ipad. A new ipad is on the list for when we get home, this one is now held together by a bulldog clip from previous damage and now the gaffer tape and is looking very sad.
The big excitement of the afternoon came when I went to move from one sunlounge to the other to get a bit more shade and found a lizard soaking up the coolness at the top of the lounge. It was a great looking lizard and seemed very used to people. A quick search tells me it is probably a Gilbert’s Dragon, common in this area. Naturally it became the most photographed lizard of our day! It eventually scampered off to find a bit of piece and quiet.
I resumed my inclined position on the lounge. Taking another one for the team, you’re welcome. There was also a swim in there somewhere, things I do!
We had dinner at the Sunset Bar and watched the sun go down, beautiful as usual. Amazingly, for the number of people that seem to be here, there were 3 camel trains come up off the beach. That’s around 35 camels!
Back tomorrow.
