The start of our second week away and we managed to wind things back another notch.
An easy day with a mix of lying around reading, punctuated with an occasional swim. I even spent a little Ingress time under a Sausage Tree watching a few Wallabies do what Wallabies do – eat, scratch look around and sleep, all within a few metres of me. Beautiful animals.
A bit after 4pm we headed off to the Surf Club for an drink, sunset and a bite to eat. We walked along the beach to the Surf Club only to find construction fencing blocking both entrances up to the club. We took on the challenge and were in the club grounds with not too much of a struggle!
I picked up my membership tag, you have to be a member or signed in by a member to use the clubs facilities, including and especially the bar. I signed Deb in and we settled down at a table to watch the sunset. I guess there were around 20 to 30 people there enjoying a drink.
There was a food truck in the “beer garden” on the coast side of the club, it mainly did burgers, but also did a chicken wrap and nachos. The food was tasty, better than some we had recently.
Deb got lots of sunset photos and I sent a pic to Barry & Sue, who arrive here next week. Barry replied with a pic of them with mutual friends Irene & Coil in Kununurra. Small world. I guess Irene competed in the Lake Argyle 10 or 20km Swim?
We walked back to the Resort along the beach. It was dusk, the beach was alive with people, most just sitting, some still swimming and others playing music and enjoying each other’s company, was good to see. We got to the ramp up towards the Resort just after the camels.
It was a great finish to the day, more tomorrow!
