Day 17 5th June 2019 The Shard

We had a very slow quiet day, time to catch up.

We took a bus and the tube to the south side of London Tower Bridge.
We had organised a lunch with our neighbour Helen from our apartment building in Adelaide.

By 12:40pm we were up on level 32 of The Shard at the Oblix restaurant.

It was so good to see Helen and catch up on her busy life, she had amongst other things been exploring eastern Europe and the Canary Islands. She looked well and full of life.

Our meals were delicous, the views spectacular and the company entertaining. We had been lucky and the forecast rain had not eventuated, so we had clear skies to appreciate the 360 views of London. It was great to get an overview of the city and a new angle on places we had been.

Two other neighbours from our apartments arrive in London tomorrow, another will be here in late August. At this rate there will be no one left at home.

We left Helen a bit after 3pm, she is off to tour around western Europe tomorrow.

We retraced our path of the morning and were back at our flat by 4pm. A very enjoyable, relaxing day.
