I have been waiting for this moment, yes here it is “Livingstone I presume”, yes folks today we have flown from Cape Town South Africa to Livingstone Zambia. (well Livingstone international airport anyway). In days gone by this area was part of “Darkest Africa”, the vast uncharted area in central Africa that was the playground of many famous old world explorers (Livingstone and Watson come to mind).

Number of Views :1641We love travelling to different wine regions and tasting the wine. Today we tried many a wine and ate lovely food. Was another good day and a great way to finish off our time in South Africa.
Stephen picked us up at 8.30am and we headed out to the town of Stellenbosch, 50km east of Cape Town. There was a thick fog (glad we weren’t flying today), but it had burnt off by 9.30am around the time we arrived to meet our guide Juliana. She works at the University and was born in Stellenbosch and said she loves sharing its story.

Stephen picked us up at 8.30am for a full day exploring to Cape Point. First stop Kirstenbosch botanical Garden. Our guide Andrew spent the most wonderful hour and a half with us showing us around the Garden. It was my favorite part of the day, I was in my happy place. Continue reading
Number of Views :1630I forgot to mention the wonderful surprises waiting for us in our room when we checked in on Friday night, my only excuse is that it was a VERY long day.
When we got into our room we found a bottle of Moet Champagne, a selection of very nice chocolates, a small gift and 2 cards.

Number of Views :1768We both slept well. We were down at breakfast at 7.30am, it was delicious. Greg changed some money. 10 Rand = $1 AUD so the conversion is easy. At 8.30am we met our guide Stephen in the lobby. We had a great morning with him, he is very knowledgeable. A Zooologist who has worked in the game parks of Africa and more currently as a guide in Cape Town.

Number of Views :1683We had another very slow start to the day, managed to get down to breakfast some time after 9. We missed all the early leaving US part of our tour group. Luckily we had said good bye to most yesterday.
After breakfast we walked to the Hong Kong Flower Market, on Flower Market Rd, has been here since the 1970’s. It was a hot and very humid morning, made even more so with a brief rain shower boosting the humidity from sticky to dripping. Continue reading

Number of Views :1891Had a later start today which was a nice change, we appreciated the extra sleep. We met our guide Daniel at 9.30am for a bus tour of Hong Kong Island. We are staying at a hotel in Kowloon, about 15-20 minutes from Kowloon waterfront. To get to Hong Kong Island we went in a tunnel under the harbour and headed up to Victoria Peak for the panaramic views of the city and harbour. We enjoyed the views.
