Day 22 Mexico City 7 April 2015 Mexico Day 2

After a rough night for both of us, Deb with her cold and me with a very soft bed playing havoc with my back, we both started our days on our medication(s) of choice. 🙂

We were picked up at 9:30am and got into our very comfortable Chevy Suburban for a days exploration in Mexico City. Drove into the CBD and got out for a guided tour through the city. Continue reading

Day 21 Havana to Mexico City 6th April 2015

Today started with a whimper rather than a roar. We have a slow start to our day.   Just as well as Deb isn’t too well, she has picked up a Cuban cold, and is now fighting her own “Cold War”.

So I set out this morning to tick-off the last Cuban Icon from my list, a Cigar Factory! Continue reading

Days 15 & 16 Havana and Las Terrazas Cuba

Day 15  Havana Cuba

Cuba Day 2

We woke this morning totally unsure of the time, the alarm clock in our room was 1 hour ahead of the time we thought it was, so when we headed down for breakfast we weren’t sure if we had ample time for a leisurely breakfast, or whether our guide would be waiting for us, luckily it was the former. Day 14 Guayaquil to Havana Cuba via Panama City

Cuba Day 1

When we checked in to our Hotel yesterday we were handed a sheet with ongoing information for us.  This included a 4am wake-up call and airport transfer at 5am for our 8:20am flight. It was a long wait at the airport, but the flight left on time and we arrived in Panama City Airport after a 2hr 15 min flight. We had a transit time of about 1 ½ hrs before boarding our final flight to Havana. Continue reading

The Galapagos Islands aboard the NG Islander March 22 to 29 2015

Day 6 – Guayaquil to Galapagos Islands   22 March 2015

Cruise Day 1 – North Seymour Islet

Bags out at 5:45am, ohh its been so long since we have had to deal with that!!  🙂

We were on the bus for the airport at 7am for the 1hr 40 min flight to Isla Baltra in the Galapagos Islands. This was originally an airfield set up by the Americans during WWII to protect America from the Japanese and Germans (if they came from the south west). There is now a new terminal at the airport that is pretty comfortable. Continue reading

Guayaquil   –   pronounced   “Why-ya-kill”!!

The name suggests it all. 🙂
