We were at the car rental place at 9am, took an hour but we got a cash refund and a 20 year old replacement car, not as nice but it goes ? and air conditioning is really only a fan.  It has that old car smell.  Such is life!

Waiheke Island 6th April 2018

We had a late breakfast today, then packed up and headed over the road to the 11.30 ferry to Waiheke Island, a 40 minute trip. As we got ready to disembark Greg remembered we had forgotten to empty the safe! We obviously need more practice at holidays! ?

By comparison it was an early start for me, out on the jetty by 7:30, hopeful that an early start would reap rewards. But alas, it wasn’t to be, same old story unfortunately, no fish. We booked a few days away in Melbourne and decided to try another airbnb, found one in Collins St opposite The Block arcade.  Great location, Aaron the owner was very helpful.  So, going to Melbourne, better book a show! Had a look what was on, booked Book of Mormon, has had great reviews.  Also booked high tea in Parliament House and a tour after, guess we are winging the rest!! Continue reading →

Aiko 22nd Nov 2001 – 14th July 2017

It has been over a year since we posted here! After our travels around north eastern Australia, we decided we would not travel again without Aiko.  We wanted to spend our time with her.  Aiko spent a lot of the last year cuddled up on the couch. She loved her time in Veale garden off lead, but 10 mins was enough.  Up until the end she still bounded outside for her food, like a spring lamb. She was always a delight and bought us a lot of joy.  Aiko is missed, home just isn’t the same. Continue reading →
