It looks like the 4th wave has reached its peak and is declining.

It has come to light that the Australian government took much longer than it suggested in signing up for the Pfizer vaccine at the start of the pandemic, and as a result supplies were not delivered until 2021, rather than 2020. We missed getting millions of vaccines in the early stages of the pandemic.

NSW has said it hopes to start winding back restrictions in October.

The majority of regional Victoria will cease lockdown soon.

A Melbourne synagogue that held a service breaking restrictions is in deep trouble, with some rule breakers climbing roofs to avoid police. Fines of over $5400 are being handed out to the rule breakers.

Israel was one of the first countries to have the majority of itys adult population vaccinated and to open back up to normal life. Now it has one of the highest infection rates in the world. It went from almost zero new daily cases to a country record of over 16,000 on Sept 1. The reason, Delta arrived just as it opened up.

The international vaccine sharing program for the developing world will be getting 575 million doses fewer than expected after less than 15% of promised doses from developed nations are delivered.
