18 19 and 20 Nov Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

We landed in KL at 7:30am and got a car from the airport to our hotel. We were all checked-in and having breakfast by 10am, it was so good to have our room early. We both got several hours sleep on the plane over from Mumbai, much to our relief.
We decide to take it easy here, it has been a pretty hectic 4 weeks and it was time to relax. We have seen enough and done enough for a while, and I guess that KL is sterile compared to everything we have experienced in India, it’s too civilised!!!!!
Our hotel, The Oriental is right next to the Petronas Twin Towers and shopping mall, and overlooks a fantasic park, with a huge playground and an imaginative water fountain.
Our “big” excursion here was to the Observation deck in the Twin Towers on Wed 20th. First they take you to the walkway platform between the two towers. It was interesting to learn that the walkway weighs about 250 tonne and isn’t actually joined to the towers and has about a 400mm movement allowance either way, to allow for high winds and a bit of rocking by the towers and the walkway. We then took another 2 lifts to get us up to the observation level in Tower 2, it is on Level 86! In most cities this would give you a great view over the city and its surrounds, but here, like a lot of other asian cities, it was pretty misty/foggy/smoggy (whatever you like to call it) and the visibilty wasn’t that great. It’s worth the ride up, as long as you are aware of the visibility limitations. To supplement your experience up the top, they have a few augemented reality screens, where you can “virtually” hold the towers in your hands. Very clever.
Our flight leaves at 10:30pm, and we have to check-out by 6pm and are being picked up at 6:30.
So here ends an amazing holiday, thanks for reading along, was fun sharing it, thanks for all of your comments.
