Day 14. 30 May 2023 Oia, Santorini

A lazy day, we woke late, had a late breakfast and then relaxed, enjoying our surroundings.
The cruise ships continue to visit down the coast at Thira, the sea is deep blue, the temperature is warm, blue skies with a little cloud, us doing it tough! Nothing planned.

We had a late lunch at Krinaki Taverna a short stroll away in the local village. The Taverna overlooks some homes and accommodation and down to the plains below and onto the sea. We had a great table taking in all the view. The Taverna was a quiet when we arrived but had a steady stream of people come in after us. We shared Sardine bruschetta (a rough translation), a Greek Salad with croutons and chicken souvlaki skewers. Everything was delicious, this sadly will be our last authentic meal in Greece.

Lunch, as delicious as it looks

A few drinks by the pool in the afternoon and some cheese, yes Greek of coarse (feta and Kefalotyri a hard cheese) and 18 Grapes wine to finish the day. (No that’s not me on the bottle) And one last Santorini sunset.

We leave for Athens tomorrow, a pit stop on the way to Croatia. Hopefully we can have a late checkout, we have to ask in the morning.
We have really enjoyed our time in Greece. Everywhere we have visited has been very enjoyable. The sights, the food, the people, the generosity and experiences are the things we will never forget. We will come back to Greece someday, but next time Crete will be on the list, we have heard so many great things about it.
