22 Oct 2013 Varanasi Tuesday
We both had a much better sleep last night and just as well, we had a 5:30 pick-up this morning. So it was a 5am wake-up call followed closely by a room service cup of coffee and tea, with pastries.
We were down in the foyer at 5:30 and were soon on our way back to Mother Ganges for a sunrise river boat ride. Continue reading

Monday 21 Oct 2013 New Delhi and onto Varanasi
We both slept fairly patchy, and finally decided we were up for the day at about 5am. We had a wake-up call booked for 6:45, which was duly received and followed by our wake-up tea and coffee order delivered to our room.
We went down to breakfast a little after 7 and Deb stuck to her meuseli, while I dove straight into a mix of north and south Indian cuisine. I had a sort of spicy doughnut, steamed rice cakes and a “Puffed” rice(not like rice bubbles puffed) all accompainied by a spiced tomato soupy relish. It was very good. Continue reading

Adelaide to New Delhi India via KL Sunday 20 Oct 2013
We got to the airport at about 7:15am, so we had about 2hrs in the Qantas Lounge before our flight left at 9.55am.
Checking in was a bit strange. We had to have our carry on baggage under 7kg. To do this we had to take out our cameras, tablets and kindles, reweigh the bags and then put it all back in the bag. Apparently thats OK.
When we went through customs and immigration, the Indian guy at our counter said that we would be in for a bit of culture shock when we first arrived in India. He said the big cities were very different but the country side was much more relaxed. Continue reading

Port Victoria SA 23 & 24 Sept 2013
Monday 23 September2013 Port Victoria Yorke Peninsula SA
We were woken this morning at around 5:10am with what I thought was the sound of a train coming straight at us. It turned out to be a howling Nor-Westerly. Deb was first up and out of the van to rescue our table chairs and fishing gear. The wind was soooo strong, it took some effort just to open the van door! Anyway, we quickly had everything loose in the car and we retreated back to the van and the warmth of our bed. Continue reading

Sunday 22 September 2013 Port Vic to Adelaide to Port Vic, It’s Semi Finals Day
We had a full on day today, Brian, our live in nephew, was playing for North Adelaide in the SANFL League minor semi-final against Woodville West Torrens (Eagles).
The game started at 12:10, so we had to leave Port Vic early to drop Aiko home and get out to Footy Park for the game Continue reading

Port Victoria 21 Sept 2013
We woke at about 6:30, Aiko slept on our bed and she decided it was time to get up, or at least be taken out side. Reluctantly I got up and took her outside, it was a beautiful morning, still with blue skies and the warmth of the day was just starting to kick in. Continue reading

India – We are getting ready for you
Everything is booked for our India adventure in October / November, just waiting for the paperwork to come through.
As usual for all our more exotic holidays, we booked into to see “The Travel Bug”, our travel doctor. We went and saw them the other day, both of us expecting to just have to get 1 or 2 booster shots. But how we were mistaken. We always take their advice and get what they suggest. Continue reading

Monday 15 July 2013 Our Last Day at Sea
Happy birthday to our niece Tara, we hope you’re enjoying your first birthday overseas and that London has turned on a great day for you.
After breakfast 8 of us went to join in on a behind the scenes tour of the ship (you had to be over 8, so the youngest 3 went to kids club for the morning). It was a great way to spend almost 3 hours. Continue reading
