We had another lazy start to the day, we all met up for breakfast at about 9:15 (Dante andTessa were having their second breakfasts 🙂 ). We had another very leisurely breakfast. The serving staff seemed a bit under pressure this morning for some reason , and 1 or 2 of them weren’t coping very well.  But as we left their smiles seemed to be breaking through again. Carnival Spirit Saturday 13 July 2013 At Sea – cruising somewhere south of Noumea.

 We had a very lazy morning. Sea days mean they run a brunch instead of breakfat in the main dining room. Sarah, Dante, Tessa and Sophia were up early for breakfast on the Lido, as were Kieran, Ella and Ethan. Carly was still feeling the effects of being “Gluttened” yesterday. So Deb and I met Ben down at the dining room around 9:15 for a very relaxed and unhurried breakfast. Around 10:30 we managed to drag oursleves away and start the day. Deb went back to out cabin to read the papers on her iPad, Ben went back to his room and I went up to the Lido to catch up with the others.  Continue reading →

Carnival Spirit 11 and 12 July 2013 Mystery Island and Port Vila Vanuatu

Happy birthday Desi, our youngest niece is 7 🙂
We got the day started with what has become our usual Island hopping day routine, breakfast at 7:45, up to Deck 9 at 8:45 to get our Tender number, back to our room to get our stuff and then down to Deck 1 to get the tender over to the island. Somehow Ben and Sarah and their 3 children can get all that done quicker than Deb and I, go figure huh!! Continue reading →

After breakfast we went up to Deck nine to get our tender number, basically a boarding pass for the boats taking us ashore. Got our number, went back to our cabins and got our stuff and headed straight to Deck A midships to board the tender for the 5 minute ride to Mare. Continue reading →

Carnival Spirit Tuesday 9 July 2013 Noumea New Caledonia.

We crawled out of bed around 7am and opened the curtains to find us sailing into Noumea, it was a bit strange seeing land again. The skies were a bit cloudy, but the storm of last night was nowhere to be seen.
After breakfast we all got off the ship around 9am and got a shuttle bus to the main Shipping Terminal. Our boat is so big it had to park at the Container wharf. Continue reading →

We had a time zone change last night and the breakfast / lunch arrangements for today is a very long Brunch. We are way out to sea now, my phone GPS gives us at S026 deg 21.3 mins  E161 deg 30.3 mins as I write this bit before we head out. Ben was talking of having Fillet Mignon and eggs to start the day. (Pat and Laura decided they didn’t want to join us and in the end Laura had her first Marathon run up at the Gold Coast the weekend we left-more on that later)
