#37 January 2023 Covid-19 Let’s not talk about that!!

The biggest change that has occurred this month is the seemingly conscious decision of Governments and the press not to “talk about” Covid-19. Seems they want everyone to move on and live life as usual/normal/pre-pandemic. All this as waves of Chinese descend on the Chinese mainland and spread country wide to celebrate the Chinese New Year, and possibly catch/spread Covid-19. Many of these same people will in turn return to countries all over the world with consequences no-one is talking about.

We will have to see what happens.

In January the world had 10,522,174 new cases of Covid-19 and 64,351 related deaths.

Australia had had 165,163 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,580 related deaths

And closer to home, South Australia had 11,764 new cases of Covid-19 and 80 related deaths.

On the face of it these numbers have reduced dramatically, again. But I suspect that a large degree of worldwide under reporting is occurring. As I hinted at above, it seems the world is now taking a “Head in the sand” approach to Covid-19.

My statistics are becoming harder and harder to be meaningful due to the lack of data being provided by governments.

A summary of the months news follows.

Governments around the world and in Australia have stopped or slowed dramatically, the release of Covid-19 statistics.

China removed its Zero Tolerance Policy with respect to Covid-19, and this resulted in widespread cases and deaths, the true numbers of which may never be revealed.

Medical authorities issued a worldwide warning as a direct result of this as fear emerged of a new wave coming out of China.

It is being found that many of the drugs used to treat Covid-19 are no longer effective.
