Turkiye, Portugal, Spain and Dubai Day 2 Perth 4 Sept 25

Happy birthday H, we have a big 5 year old grandson! 
We started our morning slowly, as we unwind and get into holiday mode.
We got around to P, A H & J’s place at around 10am. Such a good welcome from A & J. We both got big hugs from J, and it wasn’t long before he took me by the hand and we went off to play with his (& H’s) toys. It was so much fun playing with him one on one. Such a joyful 2.7 year old. Dinosaurs and dragons were high on the list, so much fun.

Deb and I walked with him and Chip to a local park. He sat on his push bike for most of the way and walked the rest, singing as he went. Somehow I got A’s directions wrong and we finished at a small park with no playground , but it did have a tyre swing. J gave it a go, but wasn’t too impressed with it. I had a look on google maps and found a bigger park with a playground not far away.
We walked there, singing all the way. This park was much better, a couple of slides and some swings. J made good use of it all. He loved climbing back up the smaller slide then sliding back down. When he was finished with the slide he ran over to the swing, I put him in and fastened the safety chain, he then looked at me and said, HIGH. I swung him, slowly increasing the height, the pure joy on his face as he got higher was priceless. A young daredevil in the making, I hope he never looses that.
We then walked back home spent time with A as she prepared bags for H’s birthday party on Saturday. While we chatted Deb got some play dough out and I made a few animals for J, his favourite was the last I made, a shark, such a good imagination.
We left so J could have his afternoon nap.
We got back around 3pm
, and went with A & J to H’s school for pick up time. It was so good to see H’s school, classroom and meet his teachers. He revelled in showing us around. His teacher even showed us the class tarantula (Phlogius pseudocrassipes), a native to north Queensland. A healthy 3 year old female named Skittles
From there we went back to P&A’s and spent the afternoon with the kids. We gave H a Lego set for his birthday, and I spent quite some time “helping” H build a police car. It’s been a while since I made any Lego, this explains the 3 or 4 pieces left over after the build!
We had birthday dinner, watched half the Crows finals match and then went “home”, to put our feet up and watch the rest of the game. We had a great day.
