We woke late this morning to the sad news that we lost the Men’s Basketball Bronze Medal play-off at the Olympics overnight.  Guess we have another 4 years to get that little bit better.

This morning we explored the Byron Lighthouse area. We parked the car down near the Pass Café, paid for 2 ½ hrs parking and headed off along a coastal walk towards the lighthouse. It is such a beautiful walk. Continue reading →

Thankfully we are on the south side of Brisbane and heading south. We left the CP at about 8:10am and the traffic heading into Brisbane was bumper to bumper, and even worse at all the exits. We had a very smooth run south. Deb was disappointed that she missed seeing the Qld/NSW border, but then there wasn’t any recognition that you ever crossed it, no signs or anything like we have encountered elsewhere. We were up at it early this morning. Even when you’re away domestic chores have to be done and today was washing day. We got three loads on early and had them on the line by 8am, dry and off and put away by 11am. You have to love warm weather. 🙂 Continue reading →

We started the day with something REALLY unusual for us, we used public transport!! Yes we eventually worked out where to get a bus into town and like big grown up people, we even got on and off at the right stops. But one thing, the driver really didn’t have to ask me if I had a Seniors Card!!! Are these people trying to tell me something. Continue reading →

We couldn’t check in at our CP in Brisbane until 2pm and the traffic heading south from Maroochydore on a workday morning isn’t pretty, so had to take our time this morning, lol. An easy start to the day again, I don’t know how we do it! Continue reading →

We started our day at a leisurely pace. We had a very short 41km drive down the coast today, somewhere between 30 and 50 minutes, and with an 11am check-in there was no rush. Continue reading →

We got away from the CP around 8’ish, heading to the “famous” Eumundi Markets. Along with the Mindil Markets in Darwin, Paddy’s Markets in Sydney and the Queen St markets in Melbourne they have an aura about them that leads to a great expectation. Continue reading →
