Bowen to Airlie Beach via Dingo Beach and Hideaway Bay.

After planning for a slow start for the short trip down to Airlie Beach (a straight drive was going to be about 76km) we were both awake before 5:30, and despite our best efforts we got away at 8:30!!

We missed the sunrise this morning, but managed to get away around 8:15, on our way to Bowen.

It was an easy drive down to Townsville, and we made our way out to the suburb of Gulliver to see if we could see the house I used to live in about 54 years ago!!! Continue reading →

Day 19   Innisfail to Mission Beach Qld     24 July 2016

We set out around 8am, the day looked promising, with only a little rain forecast. We drove through Mount Garnet and then onto the top of the Atherton Tablelands (well the bit we were driving through anyway) at Millaa Millaa.   It was around here that the rain/mist/foggy conditions started.
