We set out around 8am, the day looked promising, with only a little rain forecast. As a general observation traveling through this part of northern Australia is that the locals are truly crazy!

All the way from Erldunda to Mount Isa there are termite mounds, dotted at an increasing frequency along the road side. At some time in the past I assume someone though of a great idea, “Let’s dress up the termite mounds!” Continue reading →

We had an easy day.

Breakfast in the resort breakfast area was so busy, but the staff  were very efficient and the food was fresh and very good.

It rained about 13mm overnight and the grounds were wet with grey skies as we ventured out.  We made our way out to Uluru, hoping we might get the opportunity to see water cascading down from the top. Continue reading →
