We woke this morning to a very foggy Santa Monica, we couldn’t see much further than the other side of the road from our hotel, let alone the Pier. We found out late than this is the May/June Fog, and it happens every year at the change of season and is caused by ocean temperature variations and currents. It normally burns off by mid/late morning. Continue reading

Number of Views :3875We got away from Pinetop at 8am and headed for the Apache Trail. We called into Globe on the way to pick up lunch provisions and then headed to the Roosevelt Dam to start the trail. The Trail is 41.5 miles long, mostly dirt road. It is over 100 years old. Continue reading

We checked out of Aria at 8:30am and made our way to the airport by taxi to pick-up the hire car J & G had arranged. We got to the car rental place they sorted the paperwork out and we were on the road by 9:10am. You have to hand it to Vegas, there were banks of slot/poker machines in the car rental terminal. Georgie told us that one time she was here they held up a plane while people were cashing in their winnings on the airport slots!! Continue reading
