Australia  The East Bit   Days 9 and 10 Mount Isa then Mount Isa  to Bourke and Wills Roadhouse Four Ways via Cloncurry 14 & 15 July 2016

Day 9 Mount Isa. 14 July 2016

The good news is, the NSW Blues won the third NRL State of Origin game last night, preventing a Queensland 3-0 Series win. The good folk of Mount Isa didn’t seem too happy about the result, but, hey. Lol Continue reading

Australia  The East Bit   Days 7 and 8 Barrow Creek to Barkly Homestead and Mount Isa 12 & 13 July 2016

As a general observation traveling through this part of northern Australia is that the locals are truly crazy!

All the way from Erldunda to Mount Isa there are termite mounds, dotted at an increasing frequency along the road side. At some time in the past I assume someone though of a great idea, “Let’s dress up the termite mounds!” Continue reading

Australia – The East Bit – Day 5 Yalara / Uluru / Kata Tjuta 10 July 2016

We had an easy day.

Breakfast in the resort breakfast area was so busy, but the staff  were very efficient and the food was fresh and very good.

It rained about 13mm overnight and the grounds were wet with grey skies as we ventured out.  We made our way out to Uluru, hoping we might get the opportunity to see water cascading down from the top. Continue reading

Sydney Norfolk Island and Gosford Jan Feb 2016

23 Jan 2016 Adelaide to Woolloomooloo, Sydney.

Holiday time, yay!!!!!
We had an easy morning, got to the airport around 10am and our flight left on time at 11am
Our driver picked us up at the airport (it just takes all the hassle out of it getting a hire car rather than a taxi, and for not much more) and delivered us to our hotel, The Ovolo in Woolloomooloo. It’s very comfortable and a great location. Continue reading

Pacific Islands Cruise on Carnival Spirit 8 July to 17 July 2015 – Isle of Pines, Lifou Isle, Noumea

Day 1 Wednesday 8 July 2015  : Let’s get Cruising.

Our shuttle from the Central Coast dropped us off right at the entrance to the overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay in Sydney. (It took almost 2 hrs to do the drive down).

After playing a little Ingress around the Quay and the Rocks area we boarded the ship. The security getting on board seemed to only worry about 2 things.  Continue reading
