Halls Gap, The Grampians, Victoria 12 -17 October 2014.

This year it is Ella and Ethan’s turn to do the Grampians with us, following in the footsteps of their cousins, Dante and Tessa, whom we brought here in Nov 2010.

As they are missing a week of school to be here with us they have to write a journal about their travels. Ella is already well into hers, so we thought rather that us write these blog entries we would reproduce Ella’s story.

We hope you enjoy our adventures with our grandchildren as seen through their eyes, well Ella’s anyway! 🙂

Halls Gap, The Grampians 12 Oct 2014

It’s that time again, we have another set of grand children to introduce to the Grampians, it’s a family thing. 🙂

Leaving this afternoon to drive half way there for an overnight stop in Bordertown, before the final 3 hour leg tomorrow.

Should give us time to get some boarder crossing pictures with Ella and Ethan. We are looking forward to some crazy days.

Look out Grampians, Ella and Ethan are coming!!!

23 February 2014 Port Broughton, Yorke Peninsula

Happy 26th birthday to Thomas  🙂

We are definitely getting ready to be home, both of us awake around 7, what’s with that!! 🙂

We had a very relaxing day, the most strenuous thing was cleaning the awning, ready for putting the van back in storage. Deb cleaned the inside and I did the outside. While it dried we took a walk down the beach to do a Geocache (http://www.geocaching.com ).  An easy find just in the “dunes” next to the beach.  By the time we got back the awning was dry and we rolled it away. 22 February 2014 Port Broughton, Yorke Peninsula

We must be getting closer to home, we were both awake by 7am!!  But we managed a slow start to the day. The weather for the day started with wind and patchy clouds, but it soon cleared up and we had a warm blue sun-shiny day. Continue reading

20 February 2014 Coffin Bay

Our last full day here got off to an early start, we woke at 7 and 8am respectively, yes I was last one up.  🙂

After fluffing around for a while I was out fishing at about 10, and Deb stayed in the van glued to her paper and book. Continue reading

19 February 2014 Coffin Bay

We got up a little before 9am this morning, yes we are in holiday mode. 🙂

We took it very easy this morning, I took Aiko for a walk up to the main jetty and back, and that was as active as we got.  🙂  The weather is still overcast, windy  and it’s a little cool. Continue reading

18 February 2014 Coffin Bay

We woke around 8:30am, we are getting really good at this late start thing. 🙂

After we finally got going for the day, I went out and washed the car. There are some bad points to remember when asking for a site with shade, this normally involves trees, and here that means LOTS of birds (parrots and galahs) sitting in trees doing what birds do! Continue reading

17 February 2014 Coffin Bay

Well the birds, that mix of Galahs and Corellas finally went quiet a little before 9pm last night, it just became eerily quiet and we didn’t hear a chirp from them until we woke after 7am (well when Deb woke, I slept through until more like 8am 🙂  )

We had a slow morning, I went up and got some bait and a piece of cake for later while Deb read her e-paper. Then I got all my kayak stuff organised and ready to roll on down to the little beach close by us. Continue reading
