We got up a little before 9am this morning, yes we are in holiday mode. 🙂

We took it very easy this morning, I took Aiko for a walk up to the main jetty and back, and that was as active as we got.  🙂  The weather is still overcast, windy  and it’s a little cool. Continue reading →

We woke around 8:30am, we are getting really good at this late start thing. 🙂

After we finally got going for the day, I went out and washed the car. There are some bad points to remember when asking for a site with shade, this normally involves trees, and here that means LOTS of birds (parrots and galahs) sitting in trees doing what birds do! Continue reading →

Well the birds, that mix of Galahs and Corellas finally went quiet a little before 9pm last night, it just became eerily quiet and we didn’t hear a chirp from them until we woke after 7am (well when Deb woke, I slept through until more like 8am 🙂  )

We had a slow morning, I went up and got some bait and a piece of cake for later while Deb read her e-paper. Then I got all my kayak stuff organised and ready to roll on down to the little beach close by us. Continue reading →

We were up around 7:30 this morning and took it very easy as we packed up ready for the move to Coffin Bay, 49km away. By a bit before 10am we were driving out of the CP and heading into town to go to the Sunday market we had seen advertised on the foreshore.  Continue reading →

14 February 2014 Port Lincoln

Happy Valentines Day to my beautiful wife. <3

We woke to an overcast day with a very slight drizzle of rain. The sort of day best spent in bed.

Needless to say we didn’t do too much in the morning, I kept checking the weather radar, and it looked like the rain would clear by early afternoon, meanwhile Deb was deep into her “paper”. (I still need a new descriptor for her digital newspaper, maybe a d-aper, or e-paper, or I need help here people! ?  🙂 ) Continue reading →

Yes, another slow start, I think we are getting used to this holiday thing. 🙂

We woke to overcast skies, but no rain. We had another very leisurely morning, and were away from Tumby at 9:30am. With only 50km to Port Lincoln we were going to take it very easy so we didn’t get to the caravan park too early. 🙂

Just out of Tumby Bay we saw a sign pointing inland down a very long dusty dirt road, it was, “The Rose Garden” we were looking for yesterday!  Might visit there the next time we are over here! Lol Continue reading →

9 February 2014 Eyre Peninsular here we come

Fullarton to Port Germein 240km 3hr  drive

We got away from home a bit after 4:30pm after celebrating Ben’s 32^nd  with a lunch down at Port Noarlunga Beach. (A very good way to start our holiday 🙂  )

We had originally planned to get away on Monday, but instead of leaving early on Monday to beat the peak hour traffic we decided to get away the day before, even if it was to only drive about 3 to 4 hrs, our aim was for a free camp site somewhere north of Port Pirie. Continue reading →
